Our credit union is committed to making available financial products and services that will enable members to meet their financial needs and reach their financial goals.
Protecting personal information and using it in a manner consistent with expectations is a high priority for everyone associated with our credit union. Members of our credit union also have a responsibility to safeguard their financial information.
To ensure that members can rely upon the quality of products and services we make available, our credit union stands behind the following privacy policy:
Information sharing
Our credit union does not share any non-public personal information of a current or previous member with affiliated or non-affiliated third parties except as permitted or required by law.
Non-public personal information includes that which we receive from member applications or other forms, such as name, address, Social Security number, assets, and income. We protect information about members’ transactions such as account balance, payment history, parties to transactions, and credit card usage, and also information we receive from a consumer reporting agency, such as creditworthiness and credit history.
Protecting personal information
Our credit union will protect members’ personal information. LNFCU will maintain strong security controls to ensure that member information in our files and computers is protected.
Where appropriate, we will use security-coding techniques to protect against unauthorized access to personal records, ensure accuracy and integrity of communications and transactions, and protect member confidentiality.
Access and corrections
Members will always have access to their information. Members will always have the opportunity to review their information and make necessary changes to ensure that our records are complete and accurate.
Necessary disclosures
Our credit union reserves the right to disclose information when absolutely necessary. We will only share information to administer the products and services we provide, when required to do so by the government, or when we partner with other businesses to offer a broader array of products and services.
Business partners
Our credit union will partner only with businesses that follow strict confidentiality requirements. The businesses we select will offer products designed to enhance our members’ economic well-being.
Under no circumstances will we authorize these firms to charge a member’s account without their express consent, and we will not sell member information to telemarketing firms.
Member choice and opt out
Our credit union will offer members a choice in how their information is used. Any member of our credit union may elect to opt out or keep their information from being shared with our business partners.
Members may call us at 732-323-2496 to opt out. We will provide each member with a privacy policy notice when establishing a relationship and thereafter, only if changes are made, at least annually.
