Understand available balance, pending card transactions, deposit holds, and temporary authorizations.
A current balance and an available balance can differ because some transactions are still pending or funds are temporarily unavailable.
A merchant authorization can reduce available funds before the final transaction posts. The final amount may change for tips, fuel, hotels, restaurants, or other merchants.
Some merchants place a temporary hold that is larger than the expected final charge. Release timing depends on the merchant, card network, and account processing.
Some deposited funds may not be immediately available. Availability depends on the deposit type, circumstances, applicable rules, and LNFCU policy.
A pending authorization and a final posted transaction can sometimes appear at the same time temporarily. Contact LNFCU if the duplicate remains or you do not recognize it.
Contact LNFCUUse the available balance when deciding whether funds can be spent immediately, and consider outstanding checks or payments that may not yet appear.
If a transaction is not yours, do not wait for a pending item to resolve before reviewing fraud guidance or contacting the appropriate card channel.
